Citing Social Media in APA Format

The official APA Style Blog has a comprehensive post on How to Cite Social Media in APA Style. According to the APA Style Team, there are three main ways to cite social media content in an APA Style paper:

  • generally with a URL,
  • as a personal communication, and
  • with a typical APA Style in-text citation and reference list entry.

The examples below are based on the third option (in-text citation and References list entry)

Facebook Status Update: APA Example
