Accessing Ebook Central

You can access Ebook Central at https://ebookcentral.proquest.com/lib/nwtc-ebooks

From off-campus, you will need to login with your regular NWTC username and password. From on-campus, you need to sign in to ebrary if you want to take notes, copy text, print and use your bookshelf.

Conducting a Search

Type in your search term in the simple search box on the Ebook Central homepage or search tab. Click Search.

Or click on Advanced Search to narrow your search by title, author, subject, date range, language, and more. Use the drop-down menus to specify where to search for your keywords.

Click on Browse Subjects to see a list of subject suggestions.

Book Details Page: Opening ebooks or chapters

To view the complete ebook details page, simply click on the book title. You can also download, read online, view table of contents, or add to your bookshelf from the results page.

On the Details page, you have the option to read the book online, or download the entire book for 1, 7, 14, or 21 days. You can also quickly view the Table of Contents and get the MLA or APA citation of the book for your works cited page.

*Please note: To download an ebook you will need to download Adobe Digital Editions. You will automatically be taken through the process of downloading Adobe Digital Editions and your ebook.

Selecting, Copying, and Printing

Make sure to sign in in the upper right corner before you copy, paste or print.   When you print or paste copied text, a citation is automatically included with a link to the source page.

To select text, double-click a word.  Then click and drag to highlight more than one word.

To copy text, select the text.  A pop-up box appears showing several options. Click on the first icon to copy the text.

A second box appears showing the copied text, as well as the citation. Hold down the CTRL and C keys to copy the text.

To print pages, click on the printer icon at the top of the screen, or click on the PDF icon to download the entire chapter. Specify the pages to print or choose to print the chapter. Choose your citation style.  Click Continue.Then click Open PDF.

When the PDF document opens, click on the printer icon and select the desired printer.
