Library Search - Finding Articles, Books, Videos and More

Overview

When you choose the Books/Videos option, your search results can include books, e-books, DVDs, online videos, and audio books.

You can start by typing in one word (such as ADHD) or a phrase (such as welding safety procedures). ​

Result Options

Your results list gives you many options!

To access an e-book, click the View eBook link. Online videos will include a link to View now. Audio books have a Listen to audio link. You will be asked to login if you are off-campus. 

If a print book is available for checkout, you will see a green checkmark for Available. If copies of a print book are available at multiple locations, click on the blue link and use the Request It button to place holds on items.

You can also use the Request It button to place a hold on a book that is currently checked out. You will be notified when the item is returned and ready for you to pick up.

Login to your Library account before placing holds.  Items at other campuses will be sent to your campus location and you will be notified.  

Sorting

Library Search normally sorts your results by how relevant they are compared to your search terms.  However, you can also change it to sort by date, title, or author.

Too Many Results? Narrow Them Down!

After you perform a search, you can use options on the left to filter or narrow the results.

Library search filter options include date range, library location, subject, author, language, and database.

Requesting Items

If copies of an print book are available at multiple locations, click on the blue link and use the Request It button to place holds on items.  Green check mark showing physical copies are available. Link to a listing of copies available at three NWTC locations.
