Searching Fastcase - Finding Law Information

Fastcase indexes court decisions, statutes, administrative regulations, court rules, attorney general opinions, legislative acts, and constitutions at both the state and federal level.

You can find Fastcase under the Library's Resource List or access it directly here.

• If you are off-campus, you will first need to login with your student or employee ID number and computer password.

Type your research topic into the search box. 

Fastcase defaults to searching Wisconsin cases from the last five years.  To change jurisdictions (switch states or pick Federal) or source types (statutes, regulations, etc.) click on the Jurisdictions & Sources drop-down menu next to the search button.

Once you've selected the desired category and jurisdiction, click on the Save and Continue button in the top right-hand corner.

Then click the orange search button.
