Ways to Find Resources

There are three main ways to find books, videos, case studies, tutorials and learning paths:

  • Search for your topic in the box at the top of the screen. Similar to a Google search, you can click Search or select one of the suggested results that appears below the search box.
  • Browse all Topics by clicking the Topics option on the left side of the screen (it looks like a hexagon).
  • Follow Topics based on your interests. Then, every time you access O'Reilly, new titles will be presented to you based on your interests.  You can edit your topics at the bottom of the home screen.

Limiting Your Search Results

When searching, the results page shows all the items that contain the terms you typed in.

Under the search box, you have the option to narrow your results by Media type (books, videos, case studies, or learning paths), Topic or Publisher Name.

The results are automatically sorted to be displayed by Relevance, but you can choose to sort by Publication Date or Popularity.

Highlighting and Taking Notes

When you are reading an O'Reilly book or case study, you can copy, highlight, or add a note to a page or section.

Simply highlight the desired section.  A box will pop up from which you can choose Copy, Add Highlight, or Add Note.

Your Highlights can be public or private, and you can share a Highlight with others by copying and pasting the URL from your highlights page. Just click on the Highlights icon in the left-hand navigation column.
