What is Google Scholar?

Google Scholar logo

Google Scholar uses the Google search engine to find and access scholarly citations and publications.

Access Google Scholar at http://scholar.google.com to search for peer-reviewed papers, articles, books, theses, and more.

While the full text is sometimes available for free through Google, the search results also include citations for articles that are not free.  If you change the settings to show that you are from Northeast Wisconsin Technical College, the search results will indicate when an item is free through the NWTC Library.

Change Your Settings to Access Full Text through NWTC

To tell Google Scholar that you want to see which items are free through the NWTC Library, click on the three lines in the upper left corner and choose Settings.  Then click on Library links.

Search for Northeast Wisconsin Technical College and check the boxes for Northeast Wisconsin Technical College, WI - ProQuest Fulltext and Northeast Wisconsin Technical College - FullText @ NWTC's Library

It is also a good idea to add Open WorldCat - Library Search as well to connect with other libraries in your area.  Then click Save.
