Canvas Faculty Guide: Adding Library Resources

The NWTC Library subscribes to over 235,000 e-books, 200,000 online videos, 100,000 e-journals, and millions of online articles that are high quality and licensed under copyright agreements.

There are 3 easy ways to add Library resources in your Canvas courses:

• The Library's Canvas integrations allow you to search for and add materials right from inside Canvas.
  • Library Search (EBSCO) External Tool Instructions
  • Films on Demand Embedding Instructions
  • LinkedIn Learning Embedding Instructions
  • Research Skills Tutorial (Credo) Instructions
• Add PDF files from Library Resources - Search the Library's resources directly and then download PDF files to add to Canvas pages, assignments, quizzes, etc. 
• Add Persistent URLs from Library Resources - Search the Library's resources directly and then copy special URLs to add to Canvas as links.  This is best when you want to link to specific pages, chapters, playlists, or individual video clips.

1. Use the Link icon in the the Rich Content Editor.

2. Use the Insert menu on the menubar of the Rich Content Editor.

3. Add a Page to a Module 

Click the Add button

Select External URL
