Some OER providers have mechanisms in place for selling low-cost print copies through bookstores (such as OpenStax). Other providers use self-publishing sites (like Lulu Press) to print copies and provide them to bookstores. In those cases, you would work directly with Pam Ray in the NWTC Bookstore to ensure that copies are available for students to purchase.
Other OER providers use Creative Commons licenses to give you permission to make changes and reuse their materials, but don’t have a mechanism in place to print them. In those cases, once you have “remixed” the material into its final format, you will want to work with Printing Services to print the materials and with Pam Ray in the NWTC Bookstore to ensure that the copies are available for students to purchase.
Note: This is possible even if the Creative Commons license on the material includes NC (Non-Commercial).
